Growing and care guide
Growing Instructions
- 1
Plant bare-root saplings during the dormant season from December to February or potted plants in March.
- 2
Fragrant spring blossom blankets trees in April, followed by active shoot extension through June.
- 3
Fruit matures from late August to October depending on the variety; Red Gala ripens earliest.
- 4
Perform structural winter pruning and dormant copper sprays in January and February.
Care Instructions
Irrigate deeply every 7-10 days in dry months; reduce during monsoon and winter dormancy.
Apply compost and balanced NPK in late winter, then top-dress after fruit set.
Prune during dormancy to keep an open framework and remove dead or crossing wood.
Use preventive copper/sulfur sprays at bud break where scab/canker pressure is high.
