Growing and care guide

Growing Instructions

  1. 1

Transplant hardy seedlings in September-October or early spring in March.

  2. 2

One of Srinagar's premier cool-season flowers, blooming across October-November and March-May.

  3. 3

Survives heavy snow and frost under blankets of mulch, perking right back up as snow melts.

  4. 4

Naturally fades in hot July summer weather; replace with summer annuals.

Care Instructions

  1. Water when topsoil dries; avoid constant wetness during cold spells.

  2. Feed with compost plus low-dose phosphorus-potassium every 3-4 weeks.

  3. Remove spent flowers to prolong bloom duration.

  4. Provide light afternoon shade in late spring when temperatures rise.
